Trainee Electrical Estimator
to join our growing team .
This is a
full-time position
offering an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the construction estimating industry. As a Trainee Electrical Estimator, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop your expertise in electrical project estimation, cost analysis, and project planning. This role is fundamental to our business, as accurate estimating directly impacts project profitability and client satisfaction. You will gain hands‐on experience in a dynamic environment whilst receiving structured mentoring to build your technical and commercial skills.
Key responsibilities
Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate electrical project estimates and quotations
Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify electrical work scope and specifications
Research and compile material costs, labour rates, and equipment pricing from suppliers and industry databases
Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements from project documentation
Support the development of bill of quantities and cost breakdowns for electrical installations
Liaise with project managers, site supervisors and clients to gather project information and clarify requirements
Maintain organised estimate files and documentation in compliance with company procedures
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, templates and methodologies
Attend site inspections and meetings to enhance understanding of project scope and complexity
Assist with tender submissions and bid preparation under supervision
What we're looking for
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail in calculations and measurements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software or willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Organisational ability and capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously




A keen interest in the construction industry and electrical trade
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to learning
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Relevant qualification or training in construction, estimating, or a related discipline is advantageous
Experience in the electrical or construction sector, whilst not essential, would be highly valued
Commitment to professional development and continuous skill enhancement
