BBN Consulting

Brisbane

BBN Consulting is a South East QLD based environmental consultancy specialising in identification, assessment and management across contaminated land, defence, infrastructure and industrial projects.
Director-led since **** we have recently built our own asbestos identification laboratory at Yatala, operate under an integrated management system and hold CASA drone operating credentials. Our clients span demolition, energy, renewables and government, with recent projects ranging from decommissioning to commercial demolition.
About the role
You'll be based in Brisbane and spend most of your week in the field across South East Queensland, with regular regional travel and some overnight stays. 12 months in, you'll be independently running site inspections, sampling programs and monitoring, and producing reports our clients rely on to make critical decisions, with a director always a phone call away.
Fair warning: this is boots-and-PPE work on live demolition and industrial sites. If you'd rather be at a desk five days a week, this isn't the role.
Key responsibilities
Conduct hazardous materials surveys and asbestos inspections across commercial, industrial and infrastructure sites
Deliver contaminated land investigations including PSI/DSI, validation and waste classification sampling and reporting
Run occupational hygiene and air monitoring programs (airborne asbestos fibres, respirable dust and silica)
Prepare clear, well structured reports, registers and management plans
Capture sites using drone photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning (we'll train you on our DJI drones and LiDAR scanners)
Liaise directly with clients, contractors and site personnel

What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental health, occupational hygiene, engineering or a related discipline
Experience in environmental consulting or a comparable field role (hazmat, contaminated land, occupational hygiene or similar)
Comfortable working independently on live construction, demolition and industrial sites
Current driver's licence and construction White Card (or willingness to obtain one before starting)
Willingness to travel regionally, including some overnight stays
Nice to have:
Licensed Asbestos Assessor, or ability to obtain in the near future
Working knowledge of the Queensland contaminated land framework (EP Act, NEPM ****)
RePL (drone licence) or experience with photogrammetry, GIS or 3D scanning
What we offer
At BBN Consulting, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of our team. We offer:
Market-competitive salary and superannuation package
Flexible working arrangements, including the option to work remotely on certain days
Work laptop
Professional development and training opportunities to support your career progression
Mentoring and coaching from experienced team members
Opportunities to work on diverse and meaningful environmental projects
Study support for relevant professional qualifications and certifications
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process. If you require any adjustments or additional support during the recruitment process, please don't hesitate to contact us.
