Our Outdoor Education Program covers students from Prep throughto Year 11 and supports the delivery of programs to ELC and Year 12students. The program is fully mobile and involves a variety ofjourneys of differing lengths across varying locations bothnationally and internationally.
The role
We are seeking applications from experienced Outdoor EducationProgram Coordinators to join our Outdoor Education team.
Reporting to the Head of Outdoor Education, Operations, you willhave the opportunity to plan and field manage our OutdoorEducation programs. Our Program Coordinators manage a portfolio ofprograms and are responsible for all aspects including the programoutline, logistics, catering, organising equipment, determiningstaffing requirements and managing staff in the field.
This position is full-time, ongoing and works during term timeplus 3 weeks across the year.
To be successful and thrive in this position you willrequire:
Qualifications relevant to the delivery and evaluation ofOutdoor Education programs, or similar. A Diploma of OutdoorRecreation is required as a minimum.
Demonstrated experience creating and delivering OutdoorEducation programs in a school context is essential (ideally 3to 5 years' experience in the field).
Experience leading groups of mixed ability and agedchildren, with an understanding of adolescent and childhoodbehaviour management.
High levels of interpersonal and communication skills withthe ability to inspire others.
Understanding and experience in crisis management, with aproven record of successfully handling complex issues arisingfrom an Outdoor Education program.
Proficient computing skills in standard Microsoft officeapplications and use of ICT in relation to OutdoorEducation.
Experience in journey and centre based outdoor education(in Primary and/or Secondary year levels) would beadvantageous.
A current Working with Children Check is essential for thisposition. Should you not have a current check, you wouldbeexpected to apply for one should you be successful in securing theposition.
