FIRE DOOR TECHNICIAN / CARPENTER
All Aussie Fire Pty Ltd is an established fire protection company providing inspection, testing, maintenance, repairs and installation of essential fire safety measures throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced
Fire Door Technician / Carpenter
to join our team.
We are seeking someone with strong practical experience in fire doors who can confidently manage fire door repairs and replacements from the initial site inspection and measurement through to installation and completion.
THE ROLE
As a Fire Door Technician / Carpenter, you will be responsible for the inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of fire doors, fire-rated frames and associated components across residential, commercial and industrial properties.
A key requirement of this position is the ability to
independently inspect and accurately measure existing doors, frames and openings and arrange the correct ordering of replacement fire doors, frames and associated hardware.
Your responsibilities will include:
Inspecting, servicing, repairing and installing fire doors and fire-rated door assemblies.
Accurately measuring existing doors, frames and openings for replacement fire doors.
Ordering replacement fire doors and frames based on accurate site measurements and requirements.
Determining the correct door size, handing, configuration and hardware requirements.
Removing existing doors and installing replacement fire doors.
Installing and repairing fire-rated door frames.
Installing and replacing door hardware, including door closers, hinges, locks, latches, seals and associated components.
Adjusting fire doors to achieve correct operation, clearances, closing and latching.
Identifying fire door defects and determining the appropriate rectification works.




Completing fire door maintenance and repairs.
Accurately recording completed works, defects, measurements and site information using company systems.
Taking appropriate photographs and maintaining clear records of completed works.
Working in accordance with applicable Australian Standards, NCC requirements, manufacturer requirements and company procedures.
Communicating professionally with customers, building managers, residents and the All Aussie Fire office team.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
Demonstrated experience installing, servicing and repairing fire doors.
Carpentry or relevant trade experience.
The ability to independently inspect, measure and order replacement fire doors and frames.
Experience determining door handing, hardware and installation requirements.
Good knowledge of fire doors, frames and associated door hardware.
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
The ability to identify defects and determine appropriate repairs.
Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
Good time management and organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A professional, reliable and hardworking approach.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Current Australian driver's licence.
Experience with other passive fire systems and fire stopping is an advantage but is not essential for this position.
