Haulage Supervisor - Underground Mining - FIFO to PNG
New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua Recent Guinea andowns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province.
The Porgera Gold Minewillemploy nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production, and over thelast 30 years oflife of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports.
About the role
As part of our ongoing support of underground operations, New Porgera Limited is seeking an experiencedHaulage Supervisor.
Reporting to the Underground Production Foreman you will be responsible for the mentoring of underground crews and supervision including their quality of work and successful, safe delivery to production and haulage schedules.
We operate a significant fleet of drills, trucks and loaders including CUBEX V30 and Normet Charmecs.
The role includes a significant training and development element, knowledge sharing your knowledge and experience, upskilling and future proofing your team in line with global best practices as we ramp-up production to 1.8Mtpa Ore across a mix of mining both narrow vein and bulk stoping, with both Rockfill and Paste backfill methods.
You will model safety behaviours whilst monitoring the performance utilising data, systems and observations to implement small changes that lead to big impacts in process and behaviours, driving a continuous improvement mindset, looking at opportunities to implement global best practise finding efficiencies in time, plant and people operations and cost in alignment with operational requirements, legislation, statutory regulations and QA/QC standards.
You will coach and develop teams, maintaining the highest safety and housekeeping standards is imperative,



working with your team to assess and manage risk, overseeing safe working including observation and reporting of all safety, health, and environmental incidents, near misses or hazards including property damage and monitoring geotechnical issues accordingly.
NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter,with strong ability in delivery to support the mines successful operation whilst coordinating the efforts of your team members to complete projects according to plan in a timely and safe manner.

Experience of large mining operations/organisations and systemic/process improvements to optimise haulage routes and equipment performance is required, combined with a minimum 5 years managing underground fleets (NPL fleet currently +6 loaders and +10 trucks), managing stopes from initial bogging to back fill and close out, including the management of tele remote loaders and graders for road maintenance.




You should also demonstrate a broad knowledge of underground mining operations, including ventilation, services, and equipment maintenance.
You will demonstrate a 'One Team' approach, extensive underground operational experience,providing effective leadership and development for your expat and local team to reinforce NPL's culture and values, always promoting a safe work environment.The position requires a high energy individual, hands-on management style and desire to continuously improve you and your team's knowledge and systems and methods of work.
You will model a commitment to safety through proactive interactions, utilizing hazard identification tools, leading reporting, and active participation in safety incident investigations.
