Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager (Place Manager)

The Role
Reporting to the Project Director we have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Place Manager to join the Project team.
This specialist role will be accountable for setting the strategic direction for stakeholder and community relations advice, activities and outcomes associated with the project.
You will be a well-rounded subject matter expert, working in collaboration with other teams/departments and project partners.
To be successful in this position you must be able to demonstrate at least 7-10 years in a similar role.
Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the place-specific Stakeholder and Community Involvement Plans and Business Management Plan including client requested reviews and updates
Undertake consultation and negotiations with key stakeholders including sensitive members of the community and government authorities
Plan and undertake face to face consultation with local stakeholders and community members
Lead the planning and implementation of precinct community and business forums, site visits and local inductions in relation to community and stakeholder engagement.




Identify merging stakeholder and community risks and issues; recommend strategies to respond, prevent and/or minimise impacts
Respond to complaints and enquiries within required timeframes
Provide advice to project site teams and contribute to the effective planning of site activities to minimise impacts on stakeholders and the community
Maintain accurate and reliable records and report all stakeholder and community interactions
Draft notifications, newsletters and monthly email updates for community and stakeholders
Respond to and manage complaints; complete associated reports as required
About you:
Tertiary (Bachelor) degree in commerce, marketing, business, public relations, journalism, media relations or communications and/or equivalent industry experience
7-10 years' experience providing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement leadership
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Experience working in multidisciplinary construction and delivery teams
Ability to identify community issues and understanding of stakeholder and community sentiment and changing needs in relation to the project
Proficient information management and technology skills
Reporting, compliance and records management
