About the Role
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant looking for a stable role with a genuine work-life balance?
We are a small, established Tax Agent's office in Frenchs Forest seeking a competent professional to join our team in a role mainly preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for a portfolio of up to 150 clients, per lodgement period.
This may further include processing wages and payday super.
In this role, you will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting to the ATO.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS for a portfolio of clients within ATO deadlines
Reconcile GST, PAYG withholding, and PAYG instalments
Review and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and bank transactions in preparation for BAS
Ensure compliance with GST legislation and ATO requirements
Liaise with clients to obtain missing information and clarify transactions




Identify and correct discrepancies in client accounts prior to lodgement
Maintain accurate records using cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation relevant to BAS preparation
Support the wider bookkeeping/accounting team with ad hoc compliance tasks
The Successful Applicant
Minimum [2+] years' experience preparing and lodging BAS/IAS
Strong working knowledge of GST, PAYG, and superannuation obligations
Proficient in Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Solid communication skills, with the ability to explain compliance matters clearly to clients
Ability to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously
