The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Food & Beverage Attendants to join our team on a casual basis.
From theatre performances and conferences to gala dinners and special events, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring every guest enjoys a first-class experience.
About the Role
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you'll be responsible for providing professional food and beverage service across a variety of events and functions. Working as part of a dynamic team, you'll assist with event set-up and pack-down, bar service, food delivery, cash handling, and ensuring patrons always receive outstanding customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons, performers and clients.
Set up and reset function rooms, conference spaces and theatre events.
Provide food and beverage service, including bar and waiting duties.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness across bar, kitchen and function areas.
Accurately process cash and reconcile takings.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, kitchen staff and event teams.
Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and liquor licensing legislation.
Support the successful delivery of conferences,



functions and entertainment events.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
Experience working in a customer service environment.
Strong communication and numeracy skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work flexible rostered hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of liquor licensing legislation.
Availability to work across a roster, including weekends.
Desirable
Previous experience in a food and beverage or hospitality role.
Experience working in a conference, function or events environment.
Relevant hospitality qualifications or training.
