About the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this hands‐on role will support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and a broad range of day to day finance activities across the organisation (mostly accounts payable.) You will take ownership of the fortnightly payroll process while also supporting accounts payable, reconciliations, fixed asset and other month‐end activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Process the fortnightly payroll, including PAYG, Single Touch Payroll and superannuation submissions
Maintain accurate payroll, employee and leave records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and employment obligations
Respond to employee payroll and leave enquiries, with support from the Financial Controller where required.
Liaise with third‐party salary packaging providers and assist with employee commencements, departures, parental leave, and long service leave calculations
Support month‐end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, and depreciation schedules
Assist with accounts payable, including invoice entry, purchase orders, invoice coding and payment runs
Maintain the fixed asset register and support annual stocktakes
Manage staff reimbursements and credit card acquittals
Skills, Experience and Qualities
A sound understanding of payroll practices,



employment legislation, awards and contractual obligations.
A willingness to do a dual role where you will have full responsibility of payroll but will provide support to finance (specifically accounts payable)
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
You are reasonably confident in using Excel
Well‐developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Robust communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation
The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
