Can Assist is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Manager in the day-to-day financial operations of our not-for-profit organisation. Key responsibilities
Reconciling bank statements, investment accounts, and resolving discrepancies
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
Preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations
Assisting with payroll administration and processing
Assisting with month-end close processes
Supporting the completion of tax compliance and lodgment requirements
Providing support to the Finance Manager during audit processes
Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures
What we're looking for
A relevant accounting qualification or currently studying Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.




Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during busy periods.
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software.
