Role Overview
The Head of IT will drive AMS's technology strategy, lead digital transformation, and deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions — including the rollout of AI-driven automation across our operations. This leader will oversee all IT operations, automation initiatives, system integrations, and team development, reporting directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute AMS's IT vision, aligning with business growth and automation goals
Identify and lead AI and automation initiatives across operations, customer support, and back-office functions
Oversee IT infrastructure, system integrations, and cloud environments
Lead digital transformation projects, including automation, API integrations, and AI-powered tools
Evaluate and implement AI/ML solutions to improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer experience
Ensure cybersecurity, data integrity, and regulatory compliance — including responsible and secure use of AI systems




Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology partnerships
Build and mentor a high-performing IT and automation team
Support rapid client onboarding and international expansion
Essential Criteria
Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years' experience in IT leadership, preferably within logistics, e-commerce, or distribution
Proven track record in automation, system integration, and cloud technologies
Practical experience applying AI/ML tools to real business problems, such as process automation, predictive analytics, or AI-assisted customer support
Solid project management and change leadership skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Based in Sydney, or willing to relocate
Desirable Criteria
Experience with OMS, TMS, and API development
Experience with customer support automation platforms such as Zendesk
Knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance standards, including emerging AI governance considerations
