An opportunity has become available for a highly motivated, hands on and experienced individual to join our Risk and Compliance team in a permanent capacity. The role forms part of the second line function that sits within the Yamaha Motor Australia group department of Legal, Risk and Compliance.
As a Risk and Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business units comply with their respective legislative requirements and internal policies and procedures.
You will possess the ability to work within a team workplace, have a high attention to detail, have excellent stakeholder management and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously. Reporting to the Manager, Group Risk and Compliance your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
Performing assurance testing in line with approved risk and compliance plans for key areas of the business units that form the Yamaha Group of Companies.
Performing reviews and monitoring of all forms of advertising, both by head office departments and the respective distribution networks.
Performing appropriate and timely business event and breach investigation, reporting and resolution.
Preparation of regulatory/licensing submissions regarding local regulatory bodies and reporting requirements for Yamaha Motor Corporation Japan.
Act as a subject matter expert and assist with the implementation of projects that require regulatory or risk reform because of the updating of laws and/or regulations.
Maintain appropriate second line registers and work with business stakeholders to ensure appropriate policies, procedures and systems are in place.
Investigate losses or near misses to derive key findings and outcomes that will assist to improve controls and processes across the business.
Ensure respective business units manage and keep business continuity plans up to date and relevant.
Ensure appropriate group insurance requirements are met including liaising with Insurance Brokers as required.
Key Performance Criteria
A minimum 3 years' experience in risk and compliance.
A sound understanding of relevant legislation.
Effective communication, both written and verbal.
A high attention to detail.
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
The ability to prioritise competing priorities and multitask.
The ability to consume and analyse data to problem solve and provide solutions.
