This role is ideal for a capable and self-driven Mechanical Engineer who understands HVAC pipework and tube systems in detail, and can confidently take ownership of technical work, solve problems independently, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will play a key role across estimating , ensuring compliance standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Review, prepare, and submit
tender pricing
in accordance with project specifications and deadlines.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents to accurately quantify materials, labour, and plant requirements.
Provide HVAC/mechanical engineering input during tender stages.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and tender submissions.
Maintain tender records, costing databases, and pricing schedules.
Attend tender review meetings
Support negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors as required.
Prepare handover documentation for successful tenders and brief project delivery teams.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Minimum
2+ years' experience
in estimating within HVAC
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, particularly
pipework and mechanical services
Sound knowledge of
Australian Standards, building codes, and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently
Solid communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A reliable, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
