We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Hardware Technician to join a agile team supporting product development, prototyping, testing, and component-level repair operations. This role bridges the gap between design concepts and reliable, manufacturable products.
The ideal candidate brings strong component-level fault-finding skills, precision soldering expertise, and the ability to interpret multi-layer PCB layouts.
Key Responsibilities
Component-Level Diagnostics & Repair:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex PCB assemblies down to the individual component level.
Precision Rework:
Perform high-standard soldering, rework, and replacement of fine-pitch SMD and through-hole components in compliance with IPC guidelines.
Prototyping & Assembly:
Build electronic sub-assemblies and electro-mechanical prototypes using standard workshop hand tools and light machinery.
Wiring & Harnessing:
Fabricate custom wiring looms and cable harnesses strictly according to technical drawings and specifications.
Circuit Testing & Validation:
Utilize bench instruments—including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, and logic analyzers to validate and debug circuits.
Microcontroller Programming:
Program microcontrollers using dedicated in-circuit programming tools and interfaces (e.g., JTAG).
CAD Design Interpretation:
Run, interpret, and verify electronic schematics and active PCB files using Altium Designer, alongside basic mechanical CAD tracking (SolidWorks).
Failure Analysis:
Implement a structured approach to conduct root-cause failure analysis on faulty electronic components and maintain clear documentation.
Operations & Lab Support:
Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) pilot runs, maintain lab tooling calibration schedules, and manage R&D; component inventory levels.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in electronics testing, repair, prototyping, or manufacturing support environments.
Education:
Trade qualification, Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent demonstrated field experience).
Soldering Proficiency:
Advanced competency in micro-soldering and desoldering fine-pitch components under a microscope.
Standards & Compliance:
Practical, working knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)-safe practices and workmanship standards.
Physical Capabilities:
Comfortable executing fine motor tasks for extended periods and lifting test equipment weighing up to ~15 kg.
Highly Regarded Certifications (Not Essential)
IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
Formal ESD training certification
