We are currently looking for an undergraduate accounting/commerce student to join our team as an Audit Cadet on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate accounting or commerce degree at a recognised Queensland university.
The SRJ Walker Wayland Cadetship program provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience whilst completing university studies. It is this combination of work and study that puts our cadets at the forefront of their careers within the accounting profession.
In this role you will work closely with your manager in assisting to provide top quality external audit services to clients across various industries. This role will require communicating directly with clients and working with clients off-site, allowing you to learn and build on those skills.
As an audit cadet, duties in your role will include:
Assist with the planning and completion of external audit engagements
Direct client communication for the planning and preparation of fieldwork and completion of financial statements
Working closely with the audit team to ensure client work is completed to a high standard
Working across a diverse portfolio of Large Pty Ltd, not-for-profits and club clients
Travel to and from clients around Brisbane and Queensland as and when required
Participation in firm internal and external training sessions
How are our cadetships structured?
The cadetship program is structured as a combination of part-time work and part-time study. Cadets will work as permanent part-time employees - between ***** hours per week.
This prospect to combine work and study allows our cadets to gain substantial experience while studying and learning, to enable you to work effectively and efficiently in a professional office.

Be honest, dedicated to work and study, organised and enthusiastic
Have a consistent academic record and work to maintain good academic standard
