Finance Officer - Part Time (25hrs/week)
Are you the finance person who takes real satisfaction in a clean ledger?
The one with an eye for detail. The one who reaches for automation with considered curiosity rather than defending the manual process. Who says something is wrong rather than letting it drift.
If that's you, and you want reliable part-time hours in a business that will genuinely let you own something, we'd like to hear from you.
We are an established, vertically integrated luxury business
. From sourcing raw materials, through the creation process to the customer journey and after sales service.
Behind that sits a finance function running across mulit entities, retail locations in 3 Australian cities, and an online store. This role owns the daily engine of that function.
You'll work in a bright environment alongside talented and creative people, in a business where finance is treated as something that enables good decisions rather than something that reports on them afterwards.
THE ROLE
This is not an assisting role. You will be expected to run the daily and weekly cycle yourself, reporting to the Head of Finance for decisions rather than direction.
Varied work, on a rhythm you can rely on.
No two days are identical, but you'll know on Monday what Thursday looks like.
Daily
The reconciliation layer. Bank accounts across every entity, supplier invoices in, and daily takings reconciled across systems and sites
Weekly
Payables prepared, the payment run processed and uploaded, facilities monitored. Two fixed deadlines a week that don't move

Monthly and quarterly
BAS and IAS preparation, multi-state payroll tax, supplier statements, stocktake and superannuation guarantee
We'll share the full weekly pattern - task by task, day by day - with candidates we invite to interview.
You prepare the statutory work; the Head of Finance reviews and lodges. You prepare payments; authorisation sits above you. Everything in between is yours, with a explicit mandate to automate wherever it makes sense.
Six entities is not one entity six times.
Every transaction is coded to the right entity and the right location. Get it wrong once and it's wrong in several places, and it surfaces weeks later in the BAS. Precision here is the whole job.
THIS KIND OF PERSON IS
Precise but not rigid. Takes pride in a clean ledger. Asks "can this be automated?" before accepting a manual process. Notices the pattern behind a recurring discrepancy and goes after the cause, not just the correction. Communicates clearly when something's wrong rather than letting it drift. Wants ownership and is ready for it. Follows up and take responsibility.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The non-negotiables

You've worked across multiple Xero organisations (not just used Xero)
Daily bank reconciliation at volume, across several accounts
Accounts payable end to end, from receipt to payment run
You've reconciled daily takings across a POS system, a bank feed and the ledger, across more than one site. Retail, hospitality, health, manufacturing, or franchise experience all count
Confident with GST across different treatments, not just the standard one
The differentiators - what will make you stand out
You've prepared BAS and IAS yourself, start to finish
Payroll tax in more than one state
Multi-entity experience
Stocktake and variance investigation
Automation mindset
- You can point to something specific you've automated
AI/data driven literacy
- You don't need to be technical. You do need to lean in
A degree, CPA or CA. A Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping is welcome, and membership of ICB, ABN or IPA tells us you keep current, and is highly regarded.
WHY THIS ROLE
Real ownership.
You run the function.
Predictable hours that stay predictable.
Five mornings, permanent as a pattern.
We build our own tools.
Our workforce system was built in-house using AI. We take technology seriously, and there's room to shape how this role works
You'll see how a luxury product actually gets made
- and put a number on it. Most finance people never get near the product
High standards, high support.
We expect the work to be right. We also give you what you need to make it right
