The Role
SGH is seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our business, while providing leadership to the administration team. This role is ideal for someone with solid financial management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial reporting, forecasting and preparation of annual budgets.
Preparation and lodgement of BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations in accordance with legislative requirements.
Leading, mentoring and supporting the accounts and administration team, including oversight of the accounts payable, accounts receivable and weekly payroll function.
Maintaining and reconciling the Fixed Asset Register.




Reviewing completed project/job costings to identify profitability and investigate variances.
Inventory and stocktake.
Assisting with workers' compensation claims, insurance renewals, and claims management while supporting workplace safety initiatives.
Identifying opportunities to improve business processes, increase efficiencies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

About you
Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role.
Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations.
Experience with MYOB or similar accounting software is desirable.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
