We have a vacancy for someone who can make things happen to join a team of fabulous people (and a friendly companion dog). You will be directly employed by a man with complex support needs to support him to live the best possible life in his own home and in the community.
Employment will be on a casual basis, initially including:
One sleepover per week and weekend day shifts (penalty rates apply).
Shadow shifts to train you in his individual support needs
Covering occasional shifts resulting from staff absences. These may be day sessions or sleepover shifts and may be offered at short notice.
What you'll be doing
This a challenging but rewarding role that involves a range of duties including:
Personal Care
Household tasks (includes preparing meals)
Support in the community
Driving the supported person in his car
Behaviour support
Assistance with pet care.
What we're looking for
You will be a kind, patient, confident, experienced person who will be a good fit in a person-centred team and bring your own interests,
enthusiasms and willingness to listen and learn into the mix. You'll have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the team.
You may have previous experience in a similar disability support or community services role.
Certificate IV in disability or equivalent.
Current First Aid Level 2 & up to date CPR
Explicit National Police Certificate
