Join Our Team
Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of major infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a broad accounting role that combines financial accounting, management accounting, cashflow management, compliance reporting and project accounting. Working closely with the Financial Controller and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting business performance through timely financial reporting, analysis and commercial insights.
This is an office-based role located at our Bendigo head office. Given the collaborative nature of the position and the regular interaction required with the Financial Controller, General Manager, Managing Director, Project Managers and administration team, the role is performed onsite.
About The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller,



the Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial and management accounting services while supporting the business through reporting, forecasting, compliance and project accounting activities.
You will work across all aspects of the finance function and play an important role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, improving financial visibility and supporting informed business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Manage high-level debtor follow-up activities and provide direction to accounts receivable staff.
Prepare daily and monthly cashflow forecasts and identify future funding and payment requirements.
Review accounting data within Xero and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG Instalments, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and other statutory obligations.
Prepare monthly management reporting, including financial performance, productivity and cashflow reporting.
Produce actual versus budget reporting and financial analysis.
Prepare long-term cashflow forecasts and job costing analysis.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
Prepare stock variance analysis and stocktake reporting.
Oversee creditor and debtor processes to ensure transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconcile project claims and work-in-progress reporting.




Liaise with Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Prepare forecasts of future claims and revenue against budget expectations.
Support the Financial Controller with reporting, analysis and financial improvement initiatives.
About You
A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
CPA or CA qualification, or currently studying towards CPA or CA, highly regarded.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
Strong management and financial accounting experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience preparing BAS, Payroll Tax and other statutory compliance reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering or project-based industries will be highly regarded.
