Accounts Payable Team Leader

About the Role
Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient service delivery, strong financial controls and an exceptional experience for both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
You will oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable operations while coaching and developing your team, monitoring operational performance, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team to deliver exceptional results.
Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, payment runs and reconciliations.
Monitor KPIs, SLAs, ageing balances and operational performance.
Manage workload allocation, team planning and business continuity.
Act as the senior escalation point for complex supplier and system issues.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the business.
Partner with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Operations and IT to improve processes.
Lead process improvement, automation and standardisation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with financial controls, governance and audit requirements.
Deliver reporting, insights and recommendations to support business performance.

About You
5–7 years' experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
Previous experience leading or supervising an Accounts Payable team.
Strong knowledge of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
Experience managing KPIs, SLAs and operational performance.
Strong SAP experience, with exposure to VIM, OCR, EDI and workflow technologies highly regarded.
Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
A passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
