Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and relocation to the local area is essential for this role.
About The Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the role is primarily focused on ventilation planning, monitoring, and optimisation, while also supporting broader underground development and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design, review and optimise ventilation systems to support safe and efficient operations.
Conduct ventilation modelling, surveys and performance assessments.
Ensure compliance with statutory, safety and environmental requirements.
Plan,



manage and deliver ventilation and engineering projects from concept through to completion.
Prepare technical reports, specifications and cost estimates.
Liaise with site operations, contractors and external consultants.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational troubleshooting.
Contribute to risk assessments and hazard identification processes.
About You
You will be a proactive and technically strong engineer with a practical approach to project delivery.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining, Mechanical or related discipline)
Experience in ventilation engineering, ideally within mining or heavy industry
Strong project management and organisational skills
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and operational stakeholders
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ventilation modelling experience (e.g. Ventsim or similar software)
Experience with mine design software (e.g. Deswik)
Underground mining experience
