The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Building Surveyor to join our Victorian team to help our clients achieve safe and compliant buildings. Permanent and Fixed Term contracts are available.
What you'll do:
Support our existing client base with sound technical advice and a high standard of professionalism
Manage multiple commercial projects from start to finish
Carry out regulatory and compliance assessments across all project stages
Assess documentation against the NCC, Building Act, Building Regulations and relevant standards
Prepare and facilitate building permits, occupancy permits, certificates and related documentation
Technical & on-site involvement
Attend site inspections and design meetings as required
Provide clear, practical technical guidance to clients and stakeholders
Business growth & team contribution
Support the growth of the building surveying business, particularly in Victoria
Identify improvements and efficiencies, and contribute to action plans
Assist with business development and broader team initiatives
Leadership
Lead by example and support the development of team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing
What you bring
Qualifications & experience
Licensed in Victoria as a Building Surveyor Unlimited, or Building Surveyor Limited with experience in large scale commercial projects. Applicants without a licence must demonstrate ability to become licensed.
Degree (or similar) in Building Surveying
Ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar role (we will consider diverse experience levels)
Technical capability
Strong knowledge of the Victorian Building Act, Building Regulations, NCC and relevant Australian Standards
Familiarity with the Building Surveyors Code of Conduct in Victoria.
Skills & approach
Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
