Danihers Facility Management is seeking a motivated
Maintenance Officer
to join our growing team, maintaining one of our valued school sites in Melbourne's inner east. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where your skills will help create safe, functional and welcoming spaces for students, staff and the wider school community.

About the Role
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a busy school campus.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
General building maintenance and handyman repairs
Preventative maintenance and routine property inspections
Basic carpentry, repairs and minor building works
Setting up and packing down for school events and functions
Coordinating contractors and monitoring works on site
Identifying maintenance issues and implementing practical solutions
Maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment
Building positive relationships with school staff, contractors and the Danihers team
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and takes pride in delivering quality work.
You will have:
Experience in building maintenance, facilities management or a similar maintenance role
Trade qualifications (Carpentry or a related trade highly regarded)
Excellent handyman skills and the ability to complete a wide range of maintenance tasks
Strong communication and customer service skills
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
A current Working with Children Check
A current National Police Check
A current Australian Driver Licence
Experience working within a school or education environment will be highly regarded.
Work Environment and Conditions
Outdoor physical work, including lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and reaching, including rubbish collection and event set ups
Use of power tools and other maintenance equipment
