About the Role
This role is all about leading high-quality youth programs that support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of young people while developing future youth leaders.
Lead Programs That Matter
Design, coordinate and deliver engaging youth programs and activities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Western Sydney Y Space
Support young people to develop leadership skills and confidence
Measure program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
Manage program budgets and resources responsibly
Lead & Develop People
Provide guidance and support to a small team of Youth Workers
Foster a positive, collaborative team culture
Coach staff to deliver outstanding youth engagement experiences
Support volunteers and emerging youth leaders
Build Community Connections
Create partnerships with schools, councils and community organisations
Participate in youth networks and community initiatives
Identify opportunities to grow programs and increase participation
Advocate for the needs of young people within the local community




Keep Young People Safe
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and risk management
Create inclusive, welcoming and child-safe environments
Ensure programs align with Y policies and procedures
About You
You're probably an experienced Youth Worker who's ready for the next challenge.
You love working directly with young people but are excited by the opportunity to lead others, build partnerships, and have a bigger impact in your community.
You'll Bring:
Experience working with young people in community, education or youth settings
Confidence supporting young people with diverse needs and challenging behaviours
Solid communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to organise programs, projects and priorities effectively
A genuine passion for empowering young people to succeed
Leadership potential and the desire to develop others
Essential Requirements
Diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology or a related field
Current NSW Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
Current Working With Children Check
Commitment to safeguarding children and young people
CPR & First Aid Certificate
Experience coordinating programs or leading staff/volunteers
