About the role As the Engineering Lead for Salesforce at Athena, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our customer relationship management (CRM) systems. You will lead a talented team of engineers in the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions that enhance our operational efficiency and customer engagement. What you'll do
Lead a team of engineers in the development and enhancement of Salesforce applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Oversee the architecture and design of Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security are prioritized in all implementations.
Implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes, to maintain high-quality standards.
Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the engineering team.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all Salesforce initiatives are completed on schedule and within budget.
Analyze system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary enhancements.




Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce features, tools, and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into our systems.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners to integrate third-party applications and services with Salesforce.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all Salesforce processes, configurations, and customizations.
Conduct regular training sessions for end-users to ensure effective utilization of Salesforce tools and features.
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align Salesforce initiatives with the overall business strategy and objectives.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Salesforce development and administration, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams.
Strong expertise in Salesforce platform capabilities, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and Salesforce APIs.
Experience with Agile methodologies and project management frameworks, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering,



or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Technical Architect or Salesforce Certified Application Architect.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments.
Experience with data migration and integration tools, such as MuleSoft or Informatica.
Knowledge of additional programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript, to enhance Salesforce customizations.
Previous experience in a fintech or startup environment, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in this space.
Skills & tools
Proficient in Salesforce development tools and technologies, including Salesforce DX, Workbench, and Developer Console.
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, to manage code repositories and collaborate effectively with team members.
Strong understanding of database management and data modeling principles, particularly within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Experience with reporting and analytics tools within Salesforce to drive data-driven decision-making.
Practical notes
This position is based in Sydney, New South Wales, and may require occasional travel for team meetings or conferences.
