Cirka is seeking a senior
BI Specialist – Insights & Reporting
to lead and continuously improve our Power BI and insights ecosystem. This highly visible role turns operational, financial, workforce and client data into high-quality insights that support decision-making across the business and with our clients.
Reporting to the Group Business Intelligence Manager, you will design, develop and govern Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports and dashboards, while partnering with Finance, Operations, People & Culture, Sustainability, Sales & Growth, Technology & Transformation and external clients.
This role is equally weighted between internal and external delivery. You will build Cirka's in-house reporting capability and confidently represent our data capability with clients through insights presentations, business reviews and client-facing reporting.
What you'll be doing
Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of Power BI solutions, from semantic model design through to publication, documentation, governance and adoption.
Designing and maintaining enterprise Power BI semantic models, advanced DAX measures and reusable reporting assets across financial, operational, workforce and client metrics.
Developing executive- and client-grade dashboards and reports with solid information hierarchy, KPI framing, variance narratives, drill-through and executive summaries.
Analysing financial, operational, workforce and client data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers, then convert findings into clear commentary and recommendations.
Delivering recurring analytical products including monthly performance packs, forecasting views, workforce analytics, segment and client scorecards, and business review insights.
Applying AI-enabled and automated insight tools, including Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven analytics, to improve reporting speed, insight generation and how the business consumes data.
Acting as an embedded analyst for executives, segment leaders and clients, running discovery sessions and translating business questions into actionable analytical products.
Leading client-facing reporting and analytics, including contract performance dashboards, KPI and SLA reporting, tender analytics and business-review reporting.
Champion data quality, BI standards, naming conventions, measure catalogues, documentation, access controls, row-level security and data-sharing practices.
Coaching BI team members and business users on Power BI, DAX, analytical thinking and self-service reporting adoption.
What we're looking for
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Commerce, Finance,
Economics or a related discipline.
At least 4 years' hands‐on experience designing and delivering Power BI solutions in a commercial environment, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
Expert‐level Power BI capability across semantic modelling, star schema, DAX, Power Query, dataflows and Power BI Service administration.
Strong SQL skills and a sound understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling and the Microsoft Fabric / Azure data stack.
Experience translating business questions from executives, operational leaders and clients into analytical products that drive action.
Proven ability to design clean, performant dashboards aligned to how executives and clients consume information.
A confident client‐facing communication style, with the credibility, presence and technical depth to represent Cirka's data capability.
Strong stakeholder engagement, business partnering, written communication and presentation skills, including confidence presenting to executive, board and client audiences.
Familiarity with AI‐enabled reporting and analytics, and an appetite to apply emerging tools to Cirka's reporting environment.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities to deadline.
Also highly regarded is
Microsoft certification such as PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst Associate, DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer or equivalent.
Hands‐on experience with AI‐driven reporting, Microsoft Copilot, chatbots, automated insights or automation tools.
Exposure to Adaptive Planning, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP / FP&A; platforms.
Experience in cleaning, facilities management, hospitality or another multi‐site service industry.
Working knowledge of Australian payroll awards and workforce data.
Familiarity with Python or R for statistical or predictive analytics.
Understanding of Australian data privacy obligations and information security principles.
