We are looking for an experienced
High School Preparation ESL Teacher
to join the academic department at ourBrisbane school for an immediate start.
About the Role
This is a full-time position from 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Contribute to the ongoing development, review, and continuous improvement of the High School Preparation (HSP) curriculum, resources, assessment tasks, and learning outcomes.
Develop and adapt age-appropriate HSP teaching materials, learning activities, and assessment tasks suitable for teenage international students preparing for Australian high school study.
Support HSP students in developing the academic skills, study habits, classroom behaviours, and cultural understanding required for successful transition into Australian high school programs.
Assist with HSP orientation, pathway preparation, transition activities, student progression, and preparation for entry into Australian high school programs, as directed by the Director of Studies.
Monitor the attendance, engagement, behaviour, wellbeing, adjustment, and academic progress of HSP students, escalating concerns to the Director of Studies or relevant staff as required.
Provide appropriate pastoral care and support for HSP students, contributing to a safe, structured, caring, and supportive learning environment for teenage international students.
Ensure HSP student progress reports are completed accurately and submitted on time, ready for the Director of Studies to review and share with relevant stakeholders.
Maintain accurate HSP student records, including assessment results, progress notes, reporting information, and relevant academic or welfare concerns.
Follow all Langports policies, procedures, and legislative requirements relating to the care,
supervision, safety, welfare, and protection of students under 18 years of age.

Skills and Experience
University Degree
(essential)
Completion of a Postgraduate qualification in TESOL/ELT or related field (desirable)
Australian High School teaching experience essential
Current Australian teacher registration, or eligibility to obtain teacher registration in Australia, preferably with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) (desirable)
A recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary school or high school teaching contexts (desirable)
