Manager, Aboriginal Partnership and Engagement
Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action VIC – East Melbourne VIC
First Peoples Self-Determination Division at DEECA are seeking a highly talented individual with experience working in partnership with Victorian Traditional Owners across the state. Applicants should be motivated with skills in community engagement, project management, strategic planning, influencing and management.
The Manager, Aboriginal Partnership and Engagement is responsible for providing support across DEECA to build and strengthen meaningful relationships and genuine partnerships with the many distinct Traditional Owners, Aboriginal Communities and key stakeholders.
As Manager, you will competently lead and support your staff, provide direction and clear expectations needed to engage Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians into DEECA business and successfully implement Pupangarli Marnmarnepu, DEECA's Self-Determination Reform Strategy ********* and the Traditional Owner and Aboriginal Community Engagement Framework.
You will use your highly developed skills and wealth of experience to strengthen DEECA's capacity as a culturally safe and inclusive organisation and strategically network, support and advise DEECA portfolios on effective engagement and partnership with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal cultures and societies including Traditional Owner groups.
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with diverse Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians and ability to strengthen and build relationships and partnerships.
Experience in leading and managing teams.
This is an ongoing position.



The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
