About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-drivenBusiness Development Managerto join our team in Western Australia.
Reporting to the State Manager, this role plays a pivotal part in expanding our footprint by building and maintaining meaningful relationships with customers, supply partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsible for switchboard manufacturers, you'll work closely with our experienced sales team to identify new opportunities, deliver tailored, portfolio‐driven solutions, and drive sustainable growth in a fast-evolving industrial landscape.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cultivate and maintain solid relationshipswith existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory or market segment to achieve sales targets and drive profitable growth.




Identify and pursue new business opportunitiesby understanding customer needs and delivering tailored industrial electrical solutions.
Achieve and exceed sales targetsthrough strategic account management, proactive engagement, and consistent follow-up.
Foster long-term partnershipsby providing exceptional service, technical expertise, and value-added support to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date recordsin the CRM system, including customer interactions, project details, and opportunity pipelines, to support effective forecasting and reporting.
Leverage product knowledge and cross-selling strategiesto proactively engage clients and coordinate support services that help secure new business.
Develop and implement strategic account plansbased on current and anticipated customer requirements, with a focus on automation and industrial electrical solutions.
Prepare and present professional proposals and quotations, ensuring all offers align with the company's capabilities and delivery standards.
Monitor market trends and product developmentswithin the territory to identify emerging opportunities and inform business strategy.
Collaborate with internal teamsto ensure seamless solution delivery and continuous improvement based on customer and market feedback.
Experience and Pre-Requisites
Proven experience in business development or technical sales, ideally within the low voltage industrial electrical, automation,



or manufacturing sectors.
Demonstrated ability to engage with customers face-to-face, build trust, and manage long-term relationships.
Solid understanding of electrical components and their application within LV power distribution, motor control, and industrial control assemblies.
Working knowledge of power distribution and motor control concepts including discrimination, Type 2 coordination, forms of segregation, and relevant AS/NZS standards.
Proficiency in CRM systems and business management software for tracking opportunities and managing customer data.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting, proposals, and communication.
Experience in developing and executing account strategies, preparing quotations, and managing the full sales cycle.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Previous experience working within, or closely supporting, the switchboard manufacturing sector will be highly regarded.
A technical qualification in electrical, electronic, or automation engineering is highly regarded but not essential.
