Your Role
You will provide specialised paralegal and administrative support to Solicitors in our firm.
Your work will include:
Court document drafting and other paralegal skills
Supporting clients with their queries and their paperwork
Managing and conducting conflict checks
Making appointments with clients, preparing, sending and processing client retainer agreements
Assisting with billing procedures
Word processing, creating and editing documents such as letters, precedent Court documents, briefs to Counsel, land title documents (transfers, caveats, withdrawal of caveats) and other documents using the firm's LEAP practice management software
Electronic court filing
Communication and matter management with Barristers (including Senior Counsel)
Preparing Briefs to Counsel
Liaising with other law firms and third parties;




Facilitating administrative arrangements to support electronic Court appearances by telephone or by video conferencing such as through Microsoft Teams and Webex
Using the firm's limitation date diary and file bring-up systems
File opening and file archiving
Filing correspondence and other file material on hard copy client files
Collating Lists of Documents (disclosure)
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
Positive, cheerful attitude
Attention to detail and pride taken in work tasks
Excellent organisational skills
Intention to be of the best service you can to work colleagues, clients and anyone you come into contact with
Experience using a document management system (preferable though not essential)
Experience and skills using Microsoft Office 365
Experience in the area of Family Law
There is a Casual Position offered, 2-3 days per week with possible additional periods.
This role has suited University Students undertaking legal studies.
There is a Full-Time Position available, 5 days per week.
