Lead the delivery of a major renewable energy project with Symal Infrastructure
About the Role
Symal Infrastructure is delivering a significant renewable energy project in Northern Queensland and is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our project team.
FIFO roster | 2 weeks on / 1 week off | 30% FIFO uplift | Accommodation & meals provided | Flights included
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise civil construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver project outcomes
Manage daily site operations, productivity, resources, and construction activities
Drive safety leadership through pre-starts, toolbox talks, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance activities
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and environmental requirements
Monitor progress against construction programs, three-week lookaheads, and production targets
Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and commercial outcomes
Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, variations, and project documentation
Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce rework, and achieve project milestones
Build strong relationships with clients, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
Mentor and develop Leading Hands, operators, and site personnel
About You
Proven experience supervising civil construction projects valued at over $5M
Approximately 7+ years' experience within civil construction
Solid experience leading large site teams and subcontractors
Experience across earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete, or renewable infrastructure projects
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
Strong understanding of construction planning, productivity, and site coordination
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, SWMS, and project documentation
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams
Experience working in remote/FIFO environments is highly regarded
Current White Card and relevant construction tickets
Program & Commercial Management
Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources
Monitor productivity and ensure work is delivered against project targets
Identify delays, variations, and commercial opportunities
Maintain accurate site records and reporting requirements
Support project delivery in line with budget and program requirements
Safety & Environment
Lead by example in safety culture and compliance
Facilitate pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety interactions
Ensure SWMS, risk assessments, and environmental controls are implemented
Work closely with project safety teams to maintain high standards
Quality Management
Ensure construction activities meet project specifications and quality requirements
Manage inspections, testing, defects, and close-out processes
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor Leading Hands and site personnel
Set clear expectations and support team development
