The part you will play
As part of the Community Engagement team you will work across a diverse range of Council projects and initiatives, providing expert advice, guidance and capability building to support high-quality community engagement. You will partner with teams across the organisation to ensure engagement practices are consistent, inclusive and impactful, helping Council better understand community needs and aspirations. Through a range of approaches and opportunities, you'll help us bring our Community Engagement Policy ******* to life to empower our community to play a role in influencing the future planning of our City, and the delivery of our services.
Let's talk about you
Proven experience and skills in designing and implementing deliberate, proactive community engagement activities.
Ability to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders and communities both internally and external.
The ability to identify issues and impacts along with problem-solving skills to determine the best outcomes for the project.
Experience providing expert advice and upskilling/coaching other business areas in community engagement.
Strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as excellent time management and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve specific objectives within the desired timeframe despite conflicting pressures.




Certificate in Engagement and understanding of Engagement Institute (formerly IAP2) practices and commitment to well planned, deliberate and accessible engagement opportunities.

This is a full time role and provides a monthly or fortnightly RDO for full time staff - your choice!
