Identifibre Pty Ltd specialises in high-quality qualified consulting services in hazardous materials, occupational hygiene and safety, environmental risk management and training. We have built a strong reputation for technical excellence and trusted service delivery including asbestos identification by Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). We are looking to expand our Melbourne team by hiring Asbestos/Hazmat Consultants.

For experienced applicants, you will bring established expertise in the field. For graduates or those early in their careers, we provide the training, mentorship, and support needed to build a successful career in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials consulting.
You need to be comfortable working across diverse projects and client environments, eager to understand the risks and complexities of hazardous building materials, and motivated to deliver accurate, practical, and effective solutions.
Work Requirements
As part of our team, your responsibilities will be tailored to your experience level and will include:
Conducting asbestos and hazardous materials surveys across commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
Overseeing and supervising asbestos and hazardous materials removal projects.
Carrying out asbestos fibre air monitoring and clearance inspections.




Preparing qualitative risk assessments and developing hazard control strategies.
Keeping up to date with OHS legislation, Compliance Codes, and industry developments.
Communicating directly with clients through meetings, calls, and report presentations.
Collaborating with environmental and occupational hygiene teams, while also handling in-house administrative duties.
Ad-hoc activities required to complete a specific job.
Who You Are
We are looking for candidates across a range of experience levels who possess:
A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Science, Engineering, or a related field (completed or nearing completion).
Experience levels:
Anything from a motivated
Graduate
(0–2 years' experience with a willingness to learn) to an
Experienced Consultant
(2+ years of relevant industry experience).
An understanding of (or a strong interest in learning about) the uses and applications of hazardous building materials, especially asbestos.
Strong report-writing, organisational, and time management skills.
Familiarity with Alpha-Tracker or other hazardous materials software programs is a plus (training provided for graduates).
Practical, innovative problem-solving approaches.
Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
A current Australian driver's licence.
Access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle.
Willing to travel throughout Victoria, and occasionally further.
Able to be part of a rotating weekend roster, or willing to routinely work on weekends.
Licence/Certification (Or willingness to obtain):
White Card (Highly Desirable)
Current Working with Children Permit
Working at Heights (Preferred)
Confined Spaces Permit (Preferred)
