Supply Chain Specialist - Warehouse & Logistics
New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province.
NPL is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation, Zijin Mining, and the Papua New Guinea Government, combining global mining expertise with a shared commitment to responsible resource development and long-term value creation for Papua New Guinea.
The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production and, over its 30-year operating history, has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports, making it one of the country's most significant economic assets.
About the role
We are seeking a highly capable Supply Chain professional with strong expertise in warehouse and logistics operations to join our team at Porgera.
This role is critical to delivering protected, efficient, and reliable operations, with a strong focus on improving site safety performance.
You will bring a strong continuous improvement mindset and a genuine commitment to developing and mentoring Papua New Guinean team members, including building SAP capability across the warehouse team.
While primarily focused on warehouse and logistics, the role is expected to contribute across the broader supply chain.
You will lead and promote a safety-first culture while driving continuous improvement in site safety performance.
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, ensuring all activities comply with site safety standards, procedures, and critical controls.




Lead safe and efficient warehouse and logistics operations, providing hands‐on SAP support, coaching, and troubleshooting to strengthen warehouse capability and compliance.
Act as the site SAP champion for warehouse processes, collaborating closely with Purchasing and Expediting teams to improve goods receipting accuracy through better alignment of purchase orders, delivery documentation, and SAP transactions.
Drive continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery, while developing, coaching, and mentoring the national workforce to build long‐term capability.
Optimise inventory management practices, including stock accuracy, storage standards, and material handling, and support the planning and coordination of inbound and outbound freight to ensure seamless logistics operations.
About you
You are a hands‐on, safety‐driven supply chain professional who leads by example and thrives in an operational environment.
You have a demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and improving site safety performance, backed by proven experience in warehouse and logistics operations, ideally within mining or heavy industry.




You possess solid SAP capability across MM, Warehouse, and Inventory modules, with experience providing practical, on‐the‐floor SAP support while mentoring and developing teams to build capability.
A confident communicator, you engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and foster collaborative working relationships.
Experience driving process improvement initiatives, exposure to procurement or inventory management, and a track record of mentoring teams in developing nations will be highly regarded.
Previous experience working in remote or culturally diverse environments, particularly Papua New Guinea or similar regions, will also be viewed favourably.
