Technical Sales Representative – Commercial Construction (Hunter + Closer)
We are a rapidly growing premium importer and distributor of high-performance sub-structure pedestals and composite materials. We have strong East Coast distribution, excellent stock availability, and a solid flow of inbound leads in Victoria. We're scaling our Victorian operations and need a commercially sharp Technical Sales Representative who can efficiently close warm inbound opportunities while actively hunting new specification and contractor business.
The Role
This is a true hunter-closer role. You will manage and convert a healthy volume of inbound leads (tenders, enquiries, architect referrals) while proactively building new relationships with landscape architects, commercial contractors, and developers. You will own the full sales cycle, from specification influence through to on-site closing.
Key Responsibilities
Close Incoming Leads — Quickly qualify and convert inbound enquiries, tenders, and referrals into revenue.
Proactive Hunting — Build relationships with tier-1/2 landscape architects to drive specifications and secure recurring business from commercial landscapers, tier-2 builders, and multi-residential developers.
Market & Opportunity Development — Proactively identify and pursue recent opportunities in the Victorian construction market, understand key decision-makers (architects, estimators, project managers, developers), and strategically target the right projects and accounts.
Collaborate with Internal Teams — Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and operations staff to ensure accurate quoting, timely deliveries, and successful project execution for customers.




Pipeline Management — Accurately track opportunities in NetSuite, manage project timelines, and forecast effectively.
Technical Advisory — Provide on-site support, layout advice, and compliance guidance to site teams and engineers.
About You
You're a strong closer who doesn't wait for leads to come in, you create your own opportunities. You have solid technical credibility in commercial construction and enjoy both converting warm prospects and opening new doors. You don't just sell on "good customer service" you sell on data, structural logic, and operational efficiency. You understand the commercial construction landscape in Melbourne and know how to navigate the project timeline from design to handover. You have the ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships and work well with management to rapidly grow your market segment.
Requirements
3–5+ years in technical sales of building materials, architectural products, or structural systems (commercial construction experience essential).
Proven ability to close deals + generate new business (hunter-closer track record).
Experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Site Manager, or similar is highly regarded.
Challenger sales style with strong commercial acumen.
NetSuite / CRM experience (major advantage).
Current, clean Victorian Driver's Licence.

Base Salary: $90,000 – $125,000 + Super (negotiable based on track record).
