About the Role
We're looking for two proactive and customer-focused Contract Officers to help monitor and improve waste collection services delivered across the community.
This is a practical, hands‐on role where you'll spend time both in the office and out in the field ensuring waste collection services are being delivered as expected. You'll investigate service issues, respond to customer complaints, conduct inspections, and work closely with contractors and stakeholders to resolve problems.
If you enjoy problem-solving, customer service, and getting out from behind the desk, this could be a great opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
Conducting regular site inspections to check waste collection services are being delivered correctly.
Identifying and documenting issues such as missed collections, overflowing bins, illegal dumping, and other service concerns.
Taking photographs and recording inspection findings.
Investigating customer enquiries and complaints and coordinating resolutions.
Liaising with waste contractors, residents, building managers, and internal stakeholders.
Monitoring contractor performance against service standards and contractual requirements.
Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
Assisting with service improvements and operational initiatives.
Ensuring issues are resolved promptly and escalated where necessary.

About You
You will ideally have:
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Experience dealing with complaints, enquiries, or service-related issues.
Confidence speaking with customers, contractors, and stakeholders both in person and over the phone.
Good attention to detail and the ability to manage routine administrative tasks accurately.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Experience working with CRM or case management systems, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
A team-oriented and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
Contract administration or contractor monitoring experience.
Local government, facilities management, waste management, resource recovery, utilities, or service delivery environments.
Experience undertaking field inspections or site-based compliance activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Current driver's licence.
Willingness to undertake independent field inspections using a fleet vehicle.
Ability to pass a National Police Check.
Two professional reference checks.
Why Apply?
This role would suit candidates from backgrounds such as
Contract Administration, Compliance, Facilities Coordination, Property Management, Operations, or Service Delivery.
In simple terms:
You'll be the person making sure the waste collection contractor is doing the right thing, investigating issues when things go wrong, and helping deliver better outcomes for the community.
