Job Description
Thornton Engineering are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Painter to join their team in Corio VIC. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
Surface preparation of steel for painting, safely using chemicals and a range of hand tools
Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.
Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns
Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking and etching of applications.
Ability to read and interpret blueprint, sketches and drawings
Secure operation of tools and equipment
Grinding,



sanding and polishing of steel
Understanding of painting, caulking and sealing and putting them in to practice
Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods
Skills & Abilities:
Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant
Ideally have 3 years' experience within relevant or similar field
Ability to work in a team environment
Salary range is $70,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience Fulltime Position available Applications open on 29th July **** and closes on 29th August ****
