CMI Design is seeking talented
Interior and Architectural Designers
to join our creative team in Richmond VIC ****. This is a
full-time position
where you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative design concepts to life across residential, commercial and hospitality projects. As a key member of our design studio, you will contribute to the strategic vision of our projects whilst working collaboratively with designers, clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional design solutions that enhance spaces and experiences.
What you'll be doing
Conceptualise and develop interior design schemes and spatial layouts for various project types and scales
Create detailed design documentation including floor plans, elevations, material boards and 3D visualisations
Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project requirements and constraints
Collaborate with architects and external consultants to ensure design coherence and technical feasibility
Select and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furniture and fixtures aligned with project briefs and budgets
Prepare presentation materials and communicate design concepts effectively to clients and internal teams
Manage design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
Stay current with interior design trends, sustainable practices and industry innovations
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate implementation of designs on site
What we're looking for
Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or related design discipline




Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in interior design or architectural design practice
Proficiency in design software including Revit, and the Adobe Creative Suite
Strong understanding of spatial planning, building codes and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality design documentation and presentation materials
Excellent visual communication and creative problem-solving skills
Strong organisational capabilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Professional communication skills and client-facing experience
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and environmentally responsible practice is advantageous
