About the role
An exciting position of a Senior Transformation Manager, Trade has eventuated within our Central Operations Team. We are seeking someone who will support the design and delivery of operating model transformation across Online, Fresh, Non‐Trade & Services and Front‐End Service, you will translate operating model guardrails and end‐state designs into actionable pilots, trials and adoption plans. You will also identify operational implications, edge cases and store‐level constraints that must be addressed for successful execution and support cross‐functional partners to ensure customer, labour, safety and operational considerations are embedded.
Key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
Customer, Proposition & Digital Enablement Transformation
Translate customer, proposition and channel requirements into operationally executable transformation changes
Support digital capability uplift across Online, service, production and frontline workflows
Operating Leverage, Scale & Service Transformation
Contribute to simplification, automation‐enablement and workflow transformation across formats and service areas
Support the transformation of tools and processes that enable consistent, high-quality frontline execution
Formats & Channels Transformation Portfolio & Benefits
Support portfolio planning, interlocks, prioritisation and sequencing activities across all formats and channels
Track benefits and performance indicators across customer, sales, margin, fulfilment and productivity outcomes
Enterprise Stakeholder Alignment & Change Adoption
Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Digital,
Customer and Operations teams to support aligned decision‐making
Provide operational impact assessments and support sequencing decisions to minimise disruption to stores
Leadership, Capability & Culture Accountable for individual and team compliance with company values, policies and procedures (incl Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations
Maintain effective governance in all areas of responsibility, including ensuring team compliance, training, and development needs are met
About you and your skills
Experience delivering transformation that improves customer value, sales, margin or execution
Experience partnering with Commercial, Customer, Digital or Operations teams to turn growth opportunities into executable initiatives
Exposure to digital enablement programs (automation, workflow, guided tasks, tools uplift) at pilot or scale
Experience simplifying operating models, reducing complexity or enabling scalable growth
Ability to influence stakeholders and balance design intent with operational practicality
Commercial Skills Functional Expertise: Strong understanding of retail operations, customer and commercial levers, and digital‐enablement concepts
Commercial Acumen: Ability to assess value creation, cost‐to‐serve impacts, trade‐offs and commercial outcomes
Business Partnering: Skilled at collaboration across Digital, Customer, Commercial and Operations
Systems Thinking: Ability to see how changes in operating model, digital tools and customer propositions interrelate
Change Leadership: Ability to drive cross‐functional adoption, sequencing, readiness and sustained change
We're seeking an experienced operational transformation leader with a background in supermarkets, retail, hospitality, food production, or store operations.
Experience within Bakery, Deli, fresh food, or other service‐based environments will be highly regarded.
You'll work collaboratively with frontline Operations, Commercial, Property, and Supply Chain teams to deliver practical,
sustainable improvements while proactively identifying and mitigating operational, safety, quality, and availability risks.
