Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments in clients' homes, schools, workplaces and community settings.
Develop individualised, goal-focused therapy plans based on client needs and priorities.
Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve independence, participation and quality of life.
Assess functional capacity across activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), mobility, cognition, sensory processing and community participation.
Prescribe and recommend assistive technology and equipment where clinically appropriate.
Complete home environment assessments and provide recommendations for home modifications.
Support clients with upper limb rehabilitation, fine motor skills, sensory regulation, cognitive strategies and functional independence.
Provide falls prevention strategies and environmental risk assessments.
Educate clients, families and carers to maximise therapy outcomes and independence.
Monitor progress and review intervention plans to ensure goals remain relevant and achievable.
Key Responsibilities
About the Role
As a community-based Occupational Therapist, you will:
Provide occupational therapy services in clients' homes and community settings
Work with participants under NDIS and private clients
Deliver goal-oriented, evidence-based interventions
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team
Collaborate with families, carers, and other allied health professionals
Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and reports
Skill & Experience
What We're Looking For
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Occupational Therapist
Full AHPRA registration, OR Eligibility for limited registration in Australia
Driver's licence and reliable vehicle (or willingness to obtain one upon arrival)
Current Police Check
Current Working With Children Check
Strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based occupational therapy practice
Confidence managing a mobile caseload independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Robust time management and organisational ability
Strong willingness to learn and adapt to Australian clinical standards
Ability to work independently with appropriate support
