Budget and Contract Specialist - Clinical Trials
Veritus Research is an exciting clinical trial business specialising in First in Human, Phase 1, and vaccine studies. We are a world-class facility and team committed to accelerating high-quality, early-phase clinical research in Australia.
To facilitate on-going growth we are expanding our Trial Advancement Team (TAT) and seeking an experienced, commercially focused Contract and Budget Specialist.
This role is pivotal in driving efficient study start-up by way of optimising budgets and contract processes. Reporting to Head of projects and working very closely with the trial advancement teams, Project Teams, the Contract Specialist will primarily be responsible for management of budgets, contract development / amendments, and execution.With an eye for detail, they will provide valuable support to meet timelines.
To be successful in the role you will:
Preparation of budget and Clinical Trial Research Agreement contract
Finalise budget negotiations and Clinical Trial Research Agreement contract to meet agreed timelines
Oversee vendor onboarding, ensuring compliance, quality,



and alignment with Veritus Research standards
Contribute to continuous improvement in study start-up strategy and cross-departmental collaboration
Provide support in preparation and submission of clinical trial documentations
To successfully achieve these outcomes, you will need to:
Maintain the highest quality and attention
Meet or reduce Sponsor (pharmaceutical company) start-up timelines as required with efficient, quality-driven work.
Manage tasks as required based on the priorities set out by Manager
Professional Background:
3–5+ years of experience with budget development, contract negotiation, and vendor management in a commercial setting
Excellent numeracy and financial literacy — confident managing and interpreting budgets
Outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder management abilities
Interest in clinical trials / healthcare industry desirable
Tertiary qualifications in related field (business, analytics, finance, accounting etc all desirable, or, equivalent experience)
