Our drivers are a critical part of the customer experience. They safely complete each service, look after the truck and equipment, communicate clearly with customers and dispatch, and provide the records needed to close every job properly.
The opportunity
We are looking for a reliable Resource Recovery Driver to join our Gympie operations team. You will deliver, exchange and collect bins, transport waste and recovered materials to approved facilities, and complete accurate job records through the assigned driver system.
This role suits an experienced heavy-vehicle driver who takes pride in safe driving, careful reversing, professionalcustomer service and responsible equipment operation.
A current Australian HR driver licence is an essential requirement for this role. Applications without a current HR licence cannot be progressed.
What you will do
Complete daily vehicle, lifting-equipment, restraint and safety-equipment pre-start checks.
Review the released run, customer instructions, access notes, bin details, waste stream and approved destination before departure.
Safely deliver, exchange and collect skip bins at customer, construction and commercial sites.
Assess each site for traffic, pedestrians, overhead services, ground conditions, slope, clearances, access and safe equipment operation.
Use approved reversing, exclusion-zone, communication and spotter controls.
Check visible loads for overfilling, instability, contamination, prohibited material or other unsafe conditions.
Secure and cover bins and loads and comply with applicable road, mass, dimension, load-restraint,

fatigue and fitness-to-drive requirements.
Transport material only to approved waste, transfer or resource recovery facilities.
Keep dispatch informed about delays, access issues, unsafe conditions, customer requests, load problems or work that needs to be rebooked.
Update job statuses and capture accurate photos, notes, signatures, dockets, weights, defects and exception evidence.
Represent Superior Skip Bins professionally and treat customers, their property and other road users with care and respect.
Support authorised yard, bin or resource recovery activities when trained, competent and directed.
A current Australian HR driver licence suitable for the assigned vehicles.
Demonstrated safe heavy-vehicle driving experience.
Strong hazard awareness, spatial judgement and reversing discipline.
A safety-first approach and the confidence to stop and seek assistance when a site, load, vehicle or equipment condition is unsafe.
Ability to follow dispatch instructions and safe work procedures.
Ability to use a phone or driver application for job statuses, photos, notes, dockets and incident reporting.
Professional customer communication, reliable attendance and honest reporting.
Availability for early starts and reasonable operational variations within lawful fatigue and fitness-to-drive requirements.
Ability to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role,

with reasonable adjustments considered where applicable.
Highly regarded
Skip-bin, hook-lift, skip-loader, roll-on/roll-off or similar bin-handling experience.
Experience in waste, transport, civil works, construction, logistics or another field-service environment.
White Card, forklift, plant, first aid or other credentials relevant to the assigned duties.
Experience using driver applications, Bin Manager, telematics, weighbridge or electronic docket systems.
All vehicle and equipment operation remains subject to the applicable licence class, site induction, task training, verified competency and AWC authority.
What we offer
A full-time driving role based from our Gympie operations.
Varied local work across customer sites and approved waste and resource recovery facilities.
Clear daily dispatch support and practical operating procedures.
Role‐specific induction, equipment training and competency assessment.
A team workplace where no schedule or customer request overrides safe and lawful work.
Remuneration discussed with shortlisted candidates based on experience and relevant competencies.
The successful applicant may be required to complete lawful, role‐relevant pre‐employment checks, which may include right‐to‐work evidence, licence and driving‐history verification, medical or fitness‐for‐work assessment, drug and alcohol screening, site induction and competency verification.
Superior Skip Bins and AWC Group are committed to a respectful and inclusive workplace. We assess applicants on role‐relevant skills, experience and capability. Reasonable adjustments are available during the recruitment process and in the workplace where applicable.
