The
Far North Far West
(FNFW) team is offering short-term
Senior Manager
backfill opportunities for employees looking to broaden their experience and take on a developmental leadership opportunity across regional child protection services.
Supporting service delivery across
Ceduna, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Whyalla, Coober Pedy
and the
APY Lands
, Senior Managers will provide leadership and practice oversight to support teams and strengthen outcomes across the region.
In this role, you will:
Lead the development and implementation of operational practice frameworks and policies
Provide authoritative advice to senior leaders on practice trends, legislation and emerging risks
Champion culturally safe, trauma-informed and evidence-based practice across the organisation
Build capability through coaching, professional development and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop strong partnerships with carers, Aboriginal organisations and key stakeholders to deliver better outcomes.

You are a collaborative leader who can influence practice and drive positive change
You use sound judgement to navigate complex challenges and deliver practical solutions
You have strong knowledge of child protection practice and relevant legislation
You communicate confidently and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
You're committed to culturally safe,



inclusive practice and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Experienced leaders play an important role in supporting protected and effective child protection practice across regional communities. This opportunity allows you to contribute your expertise while gaining valuable exposure to regional leadership and service delivery.

An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in either
Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology
or
Developmental Education
which entitles registration or membership with the relevant board or association. All requirements to maintain registration or membership must be fulfilled.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.
