Our client is the peak hospitality industry body in NSW, registered as an employer organisation under state and federal industrial laws. We represent over **** licensed premises in NSW, from bush pubs to suburban hotels, to major CBD entertainment complexes and five-star luxury hotels.
A unique opportunity has arisen to join AHA NSW's Legal and Industrial Affairs (LIA) Department and its incorporated legal practice. Our client provide advice and representation to members principally in the fields of employment/IR law and liquor licensing and gaming compliance.
The Role
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified applicant for the position of Lawyer. While the role will be predominantly focused on the employment/IR department and practice, it will also provide support to the liquor licensing and gaming compliance team.
This role will see you:
Advising on the full spectrum of employment related legal issues including but not limited to employee conduct matters, investigations,
terminations and disciplinary issues, and award/enterprise agreement interpretation and compliance.
Advocating in the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals.
Provide practical guidance and strategic advice to relevant stakeholders on the management of employee relations matters.
Provide support to the liquor licensing and gaming compliance practitioners in the provision of advice to members and clients of Legal.
Provision of member training through the LIA Seminars and Training program.
About You:
We are seeking candidates who:
Are admitted legal practitioners in NSW, with at least 2-3 years PAE (mandatory)
Have previous experience in an employment law or liquor and gaming compliance workplace, either in private practice, or an in-house and/or industry body (desirable).
