1. Job Summary
Nam hangang, located in Riverton, is seeking a passionate and experienced
Korean Food Chef
to join our culinary team. You will oversee the kitchen operations, ensure the highest quality of traditional and modern Korean cuisine, and lead a diverse team. Effective bilingual communication is essential for daily operations and team collaboration.
2. Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, food preparation, and cooking in accordance with WA food safety standards.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation based on authentic and up-to-date Korean recipes.
Inventory & Cost Control: Manage stock control, ordering, food wastage minimized, and food cost efficiency.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a safe and positive team environment.
Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with
WA OHS (Occupational Health and Safety)
regulations and food hygiene laws.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of commercial cooking experience in Korean restaurants.
Language Skills:



Professional proficiency in both English and Korean (Must be able to communicate effectively with multinational staff and suppliers).
Certifications:
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent international qualification).
Approved Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate valid in Western Australia.
Work Visa: Valid working rights in Australia
Flexibility: Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
4. Preferred Skills
Experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume hospitality environment.
Strong understanding of modern food trends integrated with Korean flavours.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
