We're looking for an experienced Utilities Construction Estimator to join our team in Bendigo. This is an opportunity to become part of a well-established and growing utilities contractor delivering essential infrastructure across regional Victoria.
As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will play a critical role in securing new work by preparing accurate, competitive tenders for a range of utility infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside experienced project managers and senior leadership in a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and your contribution has a direct impact on the company's success.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for utilities construction projects.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documentation.
Completing quantity take-offs and developing accurate project costings.
Obtaining and assessing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
Preparing tender programs, methodologies, and supporting documentation.
Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
Assisting with successful project handovers to delivery teams.
Maintaining current market pricing and estimating databases.
Projects You'll Be Involved In
You'll contribute to estimating projects including:
Water and sewer infrastructure.
Underground power and electrical services.
Telecommunications infrastructure.
Pipeline installation and rehabilitation.
Utility relocations and subdivisions.
Civil infrastructure supporting utility installations.
About You
You are an experienced estimator with a solid understanding of utilities construction and the commercial drivers behind successful tenders.
Ideally,
you'll have:
Experience estimating utilities, civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
Strong knowledge of underground utility installation methods and associated civil works.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Experience with local government, water authorities, electricity distributors, telecommunications providers, or major utility clients.
Knowledge of Australian Standards and Victorian utility construction requirements.
