Position: Cook Employment Type: Full time, Permanent Location: 82 Watton Street, Werribee VIC **** Salary Package: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation About Burger Road Werribee Burger Road Werribee is a busy restaurant offering dine-in, takeaway, delivery and catering services. The restaurant has introduced an expanded menu featuring freshly prepared burgers, tacos, main courses, parmas, grilled seafood, chicken dishes, hot wings, loaded fries, sides and desserts.
The menu includes fish, chicken and prawn tacos; grilled barramundi; fried fish; grilled prawn skewers; chicken souvlaki; chicken parmas; beef, chicken and vegetarian burgers; and a broad range of sides and desserts. We are committed to providing consistently high-quality food, efficient service and a positive dining experience for our customers. About the Role Due to the introduction of our expanded menu and increasing food preparation requirements, we are seeking a skilled Cook to support the day-to-day operation of our commercial kitchen.
The successful applicant will prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items while ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, portioning, food safety and service times. Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook a variety of menu items, including burgers, tacos, parmas, seafood, chicken dishes, wings, sides and main courses. Prepare fillings, marinades, sauces, batters, salads, garnishes and accompaniments in accordance with established recipes.
Grill, fry and cook fish, chicken, prawns,
beef patties and other ingredients using appropriate commercial cooking techniques. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked safely and consistently. Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and service.
Ensure meals are portioned and presented in accordance with the restaurant's quality standards. Manage multiple food orders efficiently during busy dine-in, takeaway and delivery service periods. Assist with implementing and maintaining preparation procedures for the restaurant's expanded menu.
Store food and ingredients safely and maintain appropriate stock rotation. Assist with checking stock levels, receiving supplies and reducing food wastage. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas, utensils and equipment.
Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements. Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service. Assist senior kitchen staff with daily kitchen operations and food preparation as required.
Qualifications and Experience A relevant Diploma or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related field. At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen. Experience preparing burgers, tacos, parmas, grilled dishes, seafood and other contemporary menu items will be highly regarded.
Sound knowledge of food preparation, portion control and food safety requirements. Ability to work efficiently in a busy and fast-paced kitchen. Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team. Availability to work across weekdays, evenings,
weekends and public holidays as required.
