The company
Our client is a leading and highly regarded organisation in the Aged Care Sector based in the CBD. The organisation has undergone significant growth and change and are the providers of a diverse range of essential services.
The role
As a key member of the Financial Control team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation and review of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities, including journals and reconciliations that underpin monthly and annual financial reporting. You will also support the internal and external audit and contribute to system integration activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function. You will work collaboratively with the broader finance team and business to develop technical and sector knowledge and ensure accurate understanding of the nature and value of transactions. Additionally, you will assist the FP&A; team through preparation of accurate and timely annual budget data and quarterly forecast data.
The successful candidate
In order to be successful, the following will be favourably looked upon:
CA/CPA qualified
Previous experience in a similar role
Experience working with large ERP system.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, including journals, reconciliations, and forecasting
Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and summarise financial data
Intermediate Excel skills, including working with large datasets and developing models to support reporting and decision-making
Solid attention to detail with a sound understanding of controls, compliance, and risk
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
