Fixed Term Full Time, 36 hours per week, 9-Day Fortnight

A full-time fixed term contract until January **** has become available in the Building Compliance Team with a possibility of extension.This role is crucial ininvestigating and enforcing development compliance, ensuring the city's growth aligns with legislative requirements and best practice standards. This role is primarily focusing on private swimming pool barrier safety and investigating unlawful building work.
What you'll be doing:
Conductinginspections and investigationsto assess compliance with Queensland Swimming Pool Fencing standards.
Conductinginspections and investigationsto assess compliance with building and development legislation.
Engaging withresidents, pool safety inspectors, building certifiers, developers, and government agenciesto ensure clear communication of regulations.
Researching and interpreting legislation, policies, and recordsto provide informed recommendations.
Preparingdetailed reports and correspondence, ensuring compliance with business processes.
Takingenforcement action when required to uphold legislative requirements and the City when deemed appropriate.
What We're Looking For:
ABachelor's Degree in Building Surveyingor equivalent industry experience.
Completion of *****NAT Course in Swimming Pool Safety Inspections or a holding a valid pool safety inspector licence will be highly regarded.
A strongunderstanding of statutory compliance, development approvals, and enforcement procedures.
Exceptionalcommunication and negotiationskills to work effectively with stakeholders.
Knowledge of the Planning Act, Building Act, and Building Code of Australia, AS*********** and MP3.4 of the Queensland Development Code is highly desirable.
Experience in building compliance,



or other relevant fields with additional experience in Regulatory Enforcement highly regarded.
A positive and energetic outlook and enjoy working within a team.
Excellent level of documentation and written communication skills
The ability to prioritise and manage numerous investigations.
A validClass C Unrestricted Driver's Licence
WHS Licence (White Card)or willingto obtain one before starting.
