under the City of Kwinana's structured remuneration system.
What is on Offer?
An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Officer to join our
Rates team. Reporting to the Rates Coordinator, this position plays
a key role in delivering a range of rates administration, property
data maintenance, revenue collection and debt recovery functions
for the City and ensures rate revenue is levied, maintained and
collected accurately in accordance with polices, procedures and
relevant legislation.

What You'll Need
To be successful in this
role you will need:
Developed experience, knowledge and understanding of local
government rating principles, rates administration and rates
debt collection practices.
Specialised knowledge of the Local Government Act ****
(WA), financial management regulations and relevant legislative
requirements relating to rating, revenue collection and debt
recovery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including
the ability to manage difficult conversations, resolve complex
enquiries and negotiate repayments.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to
ratepayers, government agencies, settlement agents, legal
representatives,
internal customers and other
stakeholders.
Sound numeracy, analytical and reconciliation skills, with
the ability to review debtor accounts and identify appropriate
recovery or processing actions.
Highly developed organisational and time management skills,
including the ability to prioritise competing demands, meet
deadlines and manage confidential matters with discretion.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvement,
documentation review and development of work instructions,
forms and policies.
Possession of a National Police Clearance.
